I think the "Cole incident" occurred in late October 2000, not in 1998. So that was around 3 months before Bush took office.

You know what that is my bad. You are right. But still, Clinton had time to do something.

It was around 3 weeks before the election. I can only imagine the Republican uproar if Clinton had tried to start a war 3 weeks before the election based on this. I'm quite sure that they worked hard on investigating what happened and finding the perpetrators, but what did you want them to do...go straight to Afghanistan and demand Bin Laden right then and there? Just wasn't gonna happen. I'm not even sure they had firm info right away on who was responsible.

Yeh! Sure D2! You must be right!

After all, the Clinton people took care of David Koresh, and they sure as hell caught the Oklahoma culprits real quick, so they must've wanted to let the Bush administration take care of the Cole incident.

Yeh! Right!

That sounds very caustic after I read it D2 - I'm not aiming it at you, but at your comments - I mean it to sound ironic rather than caustic!

The question is, why didn't Clinton act after the Cole incident? Also, when Bush took office, why didn't he resumed or initiated what Clinton begun or should have initiated. Both are guilty!!!

There was too much apathy running through this country's veins. It took a tragedy such as the one that befell us on 9/11 to wake the majority which is sad.
